Bushings for E36 Rear Trailing Arms (RTAB). Fits all E36 models.

The BMW E36 often suffers from old, worn out rear trailing arm bushings which allow too much play from left to right in the rear suspension and alignment, causing a lot of swinging in curves. The OEM bushings were designed to absorb a lot of noise and vibrations from the road and give a smooth ride.

Upgrading to polyurethane for your rear trailing arms not only fixes these issues, you will experience a stiffer rear end, more precise steering and better adhesion to the road. They still absorb a vast majority of NVH from the road and bumps, the feel is OEM+.

Our bushings are made of TPU 95A, compared to OEM rubber they will last a lifetime. This is why they are backed with our lifetime warranty.

“But won’t 95A be too hard for my street car?”:

While this is a question of taste, we found that our initial 80A prototypes were not more comfortable or quieter than our 95A. On suspension components, there is little to no difference. The difference is much more noticeable on engine and transmission components.

This kit includes :

• Replacement polyurethane bushings for the rear trailing arms. (choice of offset or centered)
• Aluminum sleeves
• Large nylon spacers to fill the OEM bracket (if you have aftermarket extended brackets, you won’t need these)

“Which should I choose? Centered of offset?”

We offer the option of having an offset version, which pushes the trailing arms outwards to allow further toe adjustment when maxing out on lowered cars. We highly recommend the offset version if you’re moderately lowered and more.

We do not currently include polyurethane grease with our kits, but will eventually. You need to apply polyurethane special grease or “Marine Grease” to any bushing surface that is in contact with metal, otherwise you will hear squeaking as you drive around. We recommend buying the “Formula 5 Prelube – 8oz. Tub Polyurethane Bushing Grease” from Energy Suspension, it is cheap and will last for all your projects.
